Black And White | November 10 on 10

I’m coming to the end of another amazing year of 10 on 10’s. Every month, I want it to be interesting and fun to read (but also something I can give to my kids when they’re older). September is back to school and all things new. October evokes fall and the warm comforting smell of apples and cinnamon. And December is all things Christmas. So, what about November? This month, I wanted to try something new. Something stripped down. Something you may not have seen from me previously.

I remember when I first met Wesley, we had our headshots done by the amazing Helen Tansey. I loved the black and white portraits she did. They were perfect. Very theatrical and a little moody. These photos remind me a lot of that time in our lives. You’ll also notice that the boys have new hair cuts. To be fair, I can’t call this a hair cut. They had to have their heads buzzed last month and it broke my heart as their hair has never been this short. But it’s something I wanted to document (and it’ll grow back). On that note, I decided to make this 10 on 10 about their beautiful souls.

And of course, my two. Together. Stripped down. So stripped down, Jameson refused to put his shirt back on. But I love that you can truly see them. Their scars and imperfections. Their missing teeth and buzzed hair. It leads you straight to their eyes; the windows to their souls. This is as real as it gets and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Thank you for checking out my latest 10 on 10. I actually kept it closer to 10 images this month too! :) Before I sign off, please don’t forget to check out my sweet friend Laura’s 10 on 10 here. Her work is always so soft and beautiful. See you soon friends, Robyn xo
